Vision 2021-2041

The vision 2021-2041 of Bangladesh suggests a new beginning which includes the end of poverty. In addition, the aim is to be an Upper Middle Income Country (UMIC) by 2031 and a Higher Income Country (HIC)  by 2041 with per capita income of over USD 12,500 in today’s prices (Alam,2020,p.11)

Inspiration and Idols

The founder of Bangladesh's freedom movement, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman is the inspiration of Mr. Shifuzzaman Shikhor. Additionally, he idolizes his late father, former legislator Mohammad Asaduzzaman.

Short Biography

Politician, lawyer, and member of the Bangladesh National Parliament Shifuzzaman Shikhor was born in Bangladesh on October 1, 1971. In the 11th National Parliament Election in 2018, he was chosen by the Bangladesh Awami League to serve as a member of parliament for the Magura-1 constituency. His father, the brave freedom fighter Mohammad Asaduzzaman, served in the National Parliament as the representative for Magura-II. Manowara Zaman, his late mother, was a housewife. Shifuzzaman Shikhar is the third child out of 5 brothers and 2 sisters. Both his sister Kamrul Laila Joli and his older brother Shafiquzzaman Bachchu have served in the legislature before.

Educational & Professional Career

Shifuzzaman Shikhor had his primary education from PTI Parikshan Primary School in Magura. Shikhor completed his SSC (Secondary School Certificate) from the Government Boys High School in Magura, and Completed his HSC (Higher Secondary Certificate) from the Government Hossain Shaheed Suhrawardy College in Magura. He completed his honor’s and master's degree in history from Rajshahi University. After completing his legal studies at the National University, he has spent the last 18 years working as a lawyer at the Dhaka Bar.
